Texas is a fun place to stay. Not only is it hot, but it is also a place filled with stuff everyone would be amused to know. As a resident of Texas for over fourteen years, I should know all this stuff. Sadly, even I didn’t know these. I had to look up most of them.
Here is a list of some of the facts you probably never knew about Texas:
1. Texas has three of the most populous cities in the United States: Also some of the busiest cities, Houston, Dallas, and San Antonio easily made it into the top ten busiest US cities. It’s no wonder that Texas has them all; it’s the second biggest state in the US.
2. Most of it’s population lives within 200 miles of it’s capitol city- From Austin to Dallas to San Antonio, there is almost no limit of the population. About 70 percent of Texas’s total population lives in this megalopolis. People love this area of Texas probably because of the abundance of resources and how modern the part is.
3. Texas has the most populated and least populated counties- Texas’s most populated county, Harris County, is ranked the third in the most populous counties in the US. It has a population of more than three million residents. The least populated county in the US is also in Texas. Loving County, the least populated county in the US, only has 42 residents. I wonder why….

4. King Ranch is the size of another state- King Ranch is big, no doubt about it. But did you know, it is bigger than another state? Yes, like most other big things, it is bigger than the size of Rhode Island. Who knew?
5. Texas had the first domed stadium built in the US- This is probably the most popular stadium of it’s time. Also called the “Eighth Wonder of the World”, it is known as the famous Astrodome. The idea was conceived by a dude whose daughter had gone to a baseball game, only to see it get cancelled due to rain. So, what did he do? He abandoned the idea for an air conditioned mall, and decided to make the world’s first air conditioned stadium.

6. Texas has a huge cattle population- Texas has about sixteen million cattle overall. It is just a little less than the state’s total population of 24 million people.
7. Texas produces the most wool in the US- This is one of those things that I didn’t know. It isn’t much compared to the world leader, Australia, but it does beat the heck out of all the other states.
